At some point I will post the full birth story of Tessa, but I am not quite ready to completely relive it just yet. So, I will say this: After 30 hours of labor, she was born via emergency c-section and came out gray. Her APGAR was a 2. They ran a ton of tests on her to figure out why a full-term baby would come out in such distress and with so much going on. They still don't know, but 4 days later, she is doing much better and we are home. She improved very quickly day to day and we are so thankful that she was able to stay in Fort Dodge and didn't have to get transferred to Blank. Now, she is all in the clear!
She was born on October 28,2010 at 12:41 pm. She was 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long. She has a full head of dark hair and is just beautiful, not that I'm biased. She is such a fun little peanut.
Her first 24 hours were spent inside an oxygen hood so we couldn't hold her. She did not like it, and tried to chew her way out of the side.
Finally, after 36 hours she was stable enough to be held, and we couldn't wait!
This is how she sleeps! More pictures to come, I promise!
