Projects

Since Joel has been gone, I have been trying to keep myself busy with random house projects. It hasn't worked very well since motivation is lost, but darn it, I've been trying!! A few weeks back, we ventured to Ames to shop some consignment stores. Salvation Army=LOVE!!

These gems were 50 cents for all three, and have been conveniently placed here:

As you can see, they fit perfectly! However, they happened to fit next to the one I had JUST purchased at Hobby Lobby for 7.99. Wasn't too happy about that, but I figured I got 4 for a total of $8.49, so I guess I shouldn't complain!

I also found this amazing steal. Ok, ok, Joel did, and man was he proud!! This was in the "clearance" bin at Salvation Army. Really, isn't all of Salvation Army clearance stuff? Oh well, if anything, this is just cool to own. It's the VHS version of the best of FRIENDS, as voted on by viewers. Every episode in this thing are great episodes!!

This bookshelf was going to go at the end of the hallway after being painted a fresh coat of black. We found this at a shop in Webster City for $25.00. It's real wood, and very sturdy. Now I just have to convince Joel to paint it since I can't anymore. After that, I am hoping to find a good home for it somewhere in our house. I was going to strip it and then stain it, but after taking a closer look at it, I realized that it was many coats of black, white, orange, and so on. SO NOT WORTH IT!!

I also found this sweet lil number. I have no idea what I will use it for, but after a paint job to something less offensive and change the knobs to perhaps hooks, I will have an entirely new piece for less than four dollars, which is great!!

What crafts have you been up to?!
